EduPulse Terms of Service

EduPulse is provided to schools as the primary customer. A school’s authorized administrator sets up the school’s account; individual users — school staff, bus marshals/drivers, and parents/guardians — are then given accounts by the school (staff and marshals directly, guardians by invitation/verification) and use the Service under the school’s account. Each such user agrees to these Terms individually when they use the Service.

There is currently no self-service, public sign-up flow. New schools are onboarded directly by EduPulse; contact hello@edupulse.ng to get started.

The Service is intended for use by adults acting in a professional capacity (school staff, marshals/drivers) or as a parent/legal guardian. You must be at least 18 years old to hold an EduPulse account. The Service is not directed at or intended for direct use by children; information about enrolled students is entered and managed by the school and by verified guardians, as described in our Privacy Policy.

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account.
• Guardian accounts must be verified and approved by the relevant school before they can access a student’s information — including submitting a valid identity document as part of that verification, per our Privacy Policy.
• You must provide accurate information when using the Service and promptly correct it if it changes.
• Notify us immediately at hello@edupulse.ng if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

A school’s access to the Admin Console and the associated mobile app features is governed by a subscription agreed between the school and EduPulse. Subscription pricing, billing terms, and renewal are as set out in the school’s order with EduPulse and are separate from any school fees a school itself charges to the families it enrolls.

Where a school collects its own tuition/fees from parents through EduPulse, those payments are processed by our third-party payment providers, Paystack and/or SeerBit, and are a transaction between the paying guardian and the school — EduPulse facilitates the payment flow but is not a party to, and does not set, a school’s own fee amounts, payment schedule, or refund decisions for tuition/fees. Refund requests for school fees should be directed to the school.

You agree not to:

• Use the Service to access, alter, or share data you are not authorized to access, including another guardian’s child’s records.
• Upload false identity documents or misrepresent your relationship to a student.
• Attempt to interfere with, disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or its infrastructure.
• Use the live bus-tracking or SOS/incident features for any purpose other than their intended safety use.
• Use the Service to transmit unlawful, harassing, or abusive content through announcements or in-app messaging.

As between a school and EduPulse, the school retains ownership of the student, staff, and operational data it enters into the Service. EduPulse processes that data solely to provide the Service, as described in our Privacy Policy, and does not claim ownership over it. Upon termination of a school’s subscription, EduPulse will make the school’s data available for export for a reasonable period, after which it may be deleted in accordance with our data retention practices.

The Service relies on third-party providers, including Paystack and SeerBit (payments), Termii (SMS/OTP delivery), and Expo (push notifications). Your use of features backed by these providers is also subject to their own applicable terms. EduPulse is not responsible for outages, errors, or acts/omissions of these third-party providers, though we work to select and monitor reliable providers.

Live bus location, ETA estimates, and SOS/incident features are provided as an operational aid and are dependent on device GPS accuracy, network connectivity, and the marshal/driver’s device remaining powered on and in range. They are not a substitute for a school’s own transport safety procedures, and EduPulse does not guarantee real-time accuracy, uninterrupted availability, or that location updates will always be timely. The Service is not an emergency response service — in a genuine emergency, contact local emergency services directly in addition to using any in-app SOS/incident reporting.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by Nigerian law, EduPulse disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, EduPulse shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. EduPulse’s total liability for any claim arising out of these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount paid by the relevant school to EduPulse for the Service in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable Nigerian law.

A school may terminate its subscription per its agreement with EduPulse. EduPulse may suspend or terminate access to the Service for any account that violates these Terms, poses a security risk, or where a school’s subscription lapses. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately; data handling following termination is as described in Data Retention.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated “Last updated” date above, and where appropriate we will notify schools directly. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Lagos State, Nigeria, unless otherwise required by applicable law.
