Question 1

How long does it take to set up EduPulse for my school?

Accepted Answer

Most schools go live in under 24 hours. You upload your student and teacher rosters in Excel format, and our Lagos support team assists with configuration and staff orientation.

Question 2

Do parents need high-end smartphones to use the platform?

Accepted Answer

No. The parent app is optimised for low-end Android devices and low bandwidth, and any parent without a smartphone still receives attendance, fee and bus alerts by SMS.

Question 3

How does the live school bus tracking work?

Accepted Answer

The driver or transport marshal runs the EduPulse driver app on any Android phone, or you can pair an existing GPS tracker. Parents see the live position, route stops and arrival ETA for their child's bus only.

Question 4

How are school fee payments remitted to our bank account?

Accepted Answer

Payments are collected through your own Paystack merchant account, so tuition settles directly into your school's bank account on the standard settlement cycle. EduPulse never holds your funds.

Question 5

Is our school and student data safe?

Accepted Answer

Yes. EduPulse is NDPR compliant, uses 256-bit SSL in transit and encryption at rest, enforces role-based access for every staff member, and keeps automated daily backups.

Question 6

Can we use EduPulse if the internet is unstable in our area?

Accepted Answer

Attendance and grading work fully offline and sync automatically once connectivity returns, and critical notifications fall back to SMS.

Question 7

How does grading and report card computation work?

Accepted Answer

Each subject's score is made up of weighted components you define per term — typically CA1, CA2 and Exam — automatically computed against your school's own grade scale (e.g. 70–100 = A, Excellent). Report cards and class broadsheets are generated as branded PDFs once scores are finalised.

Question 8

How do parents get verified before they can see a child's records?

Accepted Answer

A parent requests to be linked to their child from the mobile app and uploads a government-issued ID. A staff member at your school reviews and approves the request before that guardian can see any attendance, fee or academic information for that child.

Question 9

Can teachers and the school office message parents directly?

Accepted Answer

Yes — staff can start a direct message thread with any linked guardian, and send announcements scoped to the whole school, a single class, or one family. Guardians see both in the mobile app and by push notification.

Question 10

Does EduPulse support computer-based tests (CBT)?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Set up a timed exam with multiple-choice, true/false or short-answer questions, generate a unique access code per student, and objective questions are auto-graded the moment a student submits.

Question 11

Can different staff have different levels of access?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Each staff member is assigned a role — proprietor, bursar, teacher, front-desk and more — and only sees the modules relevant to that role. A bursar, for example, can manage fees without being able to edit grades or staff records.

Question 12

What happens to our data if we ever decide to leave EduPulse?

Accepted Answer

Your school owns its student, staff and operational data at all times. If you end your subscription, we make your full data available for export for a reasonable period before it is removed from our systems.
